Kai numero deux

Work Stats:
Medium: 8.5×11 paper + mech. pencil
Hours: 2 hours for the lines and approximately 4 hours for the details.

キタ━━━(゜∀゜)━━━!!!!! IT’S DONE! I literally did this face after shading the last block. XD

Now pictured here: DETAIIIIILLLSSSSMKNCKANK. I spent the entire day yesterday finishing the shading for the wall. Basic toning and cleaning done in Photoshop. I tried adding color to it just like what I used to do with my other concept sheets but it looked so bad with it so I left it the way I scanned it. And hello! This is me trying to be as detailed as possible with my works from now on. Hopefully I’ll get too obsessive with details to the point that it’ll stay inside my system forever? LOL.

I’m thinking about finishing Iris or Eden next. But Iris’s sheet has blocks in it too and I don’t think I want to draw blocks for a while so I might do Eden instead. XD

The Beret Army says “Hi”

I first posted this when? Three months ago? And I resumed working on it just now. I’M SO PRODUCTIVE IT KILLS! I’m in the process of adding details and refining the stuff in the background. I’ll probably be able to finish this tomorrow provided that I don’t get sidetracked *coughRagnarokcoughfoooooodcough*. But hey! I’m actually enjoying being nitpicky with it so maybe I’ll be able to finish without procrastinating on it! Hallelujah.

Although I don’t think I should be blaming RO for my current procrastination schedule. After all, FA only did start having a plot after the idea of making an RO doujin hit me in the face (which I eventually scrapped because I was too lazy to think of something). Back during its initial conception the only story I had in mind was something along the lines of “OMG, I want something awesome with awesome characters in it and an awesome story *flies to the moon*”

Anyway, screenshot from the other day’s game because bots and Kafra warp points are awesome (a.k.a. they’re the primary reason why I haven’t finished what I promised myself to do):

Leveling like yeah

I have a feeling that this year’s summer will turn as unproductive as last year’s mainly because I started playing Ragnarok Online again (oh, lookie! It has its own category, orz).

Some screenies because this is the only thing I did in the past two days (aside from watching Madoka’s ending and discovering that Jesus is a puella magus in disguise *legasp*)

Edward Cullen is in my game. （　ﾟДﾟ） I wonder if he sparkles, too. Do they have items like that in RO now? I seriously want to know.

This is going to be painful

I’m going to regret putting this much detail when I start painting. I CAN FEEL IT!

This is the second illustration I’m going to work on for the watercolor project. I wanted this to have the exact opposite atmosphere of the Elddra pic… and then before I could stop myself, I started adding more and more details. I’m probably going to berate myself for going over the top later but I like how this turned out. I love that the whole thing doesn’t look like an absolute wasteland like what I originally wanted to be, and instead it appeared sad, haunting (to me, at least) and “beautiful” in its own right. It perfectly reflects how Ustiss came to see the world her ancestors created millions of years ago: an extremely fake and cruel place hiding beneath a beautiful exterior. The realization of this idea is what drove her to take matters into her own hands.

I recommend listening to Kalafina’s Sapphire when looking at this picture. It’s currently the most abused song on my playlist along with Gloria (it’s the one I listened to for the Elddra sketch). It helps set the mood y’know? XD

S-sob, Kajiura Yuki knows how to write beautiful songs. *u*b

Insert incredibly-long-title here

I’m officially on vacation! …I think? S-SOB. after two weeks of no sleep, finally~ My bed never felt this comfortable ;_;

I’m allowing myself a day or two of complete relaxation before I start with my personal projects. It feels like college drained every ounce of creativity I have in my body. ;;;

I also started watching some of the spring season anime offerings yesterday. So far, I think I’ll be following Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (or Ano Hana, if you want something shorter). COME ON! IT’S ONLY THE FIRST EPISODE AND I’M ALREADY ON THE BRINK OF TEARS.

I hope this doesn’t turn out pretty horrible like the mess with Fractale (which I dropped about four or five episodes in). This series has so much promise in it that I’m willing to set aside Clannad’s second season just so I’ll have enough tissues to wipe the tears off (LOLJK, I’m going to finish Clannad sometime this week, I PROMISE).

I’m also following [C] which is pretty creepy, by the way. I admire the way they’re handling the effects, though. The opening and ending also somehow reminds me of Higashi no Eden’s:
