Hullo, I’ve just recovered from a serious case of art block. This time it lasted for about three months a.k.a three months of staring at the ceiling and doing nothing. I didn’t want to force myself to work on anything, because when I say it’ll reflect on the work, I mean it’ll really show how uninterested I am. Plus, it may lead to a bad case of burnout which I am not willing to find myself in. Yikes! It also didn’t help that I’m living away from my beloved graphics tablet and can’t work properly at my dorm. Living at the ninth floor of my school didn’t contribute to the recovery of my brain. I desperately need a breather from school that consists of living AWAY from it.
Those matters aside, this is what I did when my brain started squeezing creative juices:
I’ve never really felt satisfaction when I finished Kai’s latest concept sheet. Come on, it’s ugly and you expect me to like it? Hahaha.
I worked on his head first before working on the whole character sheet. His hair has always been a pain to draw since his first design and I figured I should get that out of the way first before diving in to the actual character sheet. It helped me focus on other character design elements… like clothes. Which I have a love-hate relationship with.
This time I used his old design from 2008 and from his third concept sheet for his clothes. That makes this one a combination of half of the concept sheets I made for him. So far, I like it. :D
And this here is another character. LOLWUT, you haven’t even started and you already have this many?! Hahaha. Meet Verene:
I’m not really sure if I should describe anything about her now so I’ll just leave this tidbit here: she’s an important non-main character. :D

LOL, I just read through the whole post and realized that I sounded like character design iz serius bizness. Hahaha.

I spent the rest of my February 4, 2011 trying to make a a heavy ball bounce, studying for a quiz I have no idea what to review about, and fixing the Panagimpan’s site layout:
I widened the area for the posts. The whole layout now spans almost 800 pixels in width which makes it friendly for monitors with 1280×1024 screen resolution. I also tweaked the background for the posts so it won’t look too flat against the green background.
I haven’t tested this in other browsers but I’m pretty sure it’ll work. I tested this last night with IE and ended up staying awake until 3 a.m., trying to hack the CSS to fit IE’s ridiculous web design standards. Stupid browser. Anyway, it worked now. As usual, it also worked in the latest versions of Opera, Safari, Chrome and Firefox. I might have missed something though, so if you spot any errors, feel free to drop me a note and point it out!
